Grade Rugby Wrap
To say the results out of 1st Grade have been up and down is stating the obvious with 5 wins out of 10 games. As I am not the one to accept excuses I will offer none myself. On paper, at the start of the year, we were all confident of going all the way. I can assure you that much discussion has taken place to improve consistency and focus over the 80 minutes. We started the second half of the season on a positive note with an emphatic demolition of Parramatta. Hopefully we have turned the corner and make a competitive run into the finals. Players and staff are giving their all to make this happen.
After round 10, 2nd Grade sit on top of the table with recent wins over much more fancied opposition. They are a pleasure to watch with a great mix of experience and developing talent. The table is very tight at the top in 2nd Grade and we are hoping for Souths to continue at the top.
Each week selections are made with the first 4 columns listing 1st to 4th Grade starting line ups. The following three columns list the injured and unavailable players. There have been times this season where at least 15 players on this list were of 1st Grade standard, with a further 30 players listed. This is rugby reality and not offered as any excuse. It is usually the lower grades that suffer from injury lists like this. 3rd Grade and 4th Grade are sitting in 10th position and will need to fight hard to move up the ladder.
We look forward to having the break over the weekend after the East game next week.
Perhaps this will give us the opportunity to getting more players back on the track.
