Welcome Jessica and Ian

The club would like to welcome Jessica Reading and Ian Bond who have joined the board to assist with club operations and the wider rugby program.

For the last 4 years, Jessica has been in and around Sydney club rugby. From snapping pictures up and down the sidelines for Souths, NRC, Waratahs, Wallaroos and various 7s events to working at the Waratahs and onto Club Rugby TV (Shute Shield) as their Events, Marketing and Sponsorships manager. Jessica will be working across club events including game day (Ladies Day, Surf Club Day, Season Wrap, Family Day and the Season Opening Dinner), promoting our venue for function and event hire as well as assisting the Major Luncheon team.

“There is no other competition like the Shute Shield and the sense of community, purpose and drive you find at Souths is second to none. Rugby is of course the focus, but there’s so much more to the Rebels family and I’m really excited to see what we can achieve both on and off the field in 2020”.

It all started for Ian Bond 6 years ago, when he took his son along to Sylvania Bulldogs Try Rugby Night. Although he started as a dad on the sideline he has ended up with the privilege of coaching at the club, serving on the committee and eventually becoming President. His passion for club and junior rugby has flowed down the family line with his daughter completing her first year of 7s in 2019. More recently, "Bondy" has been assisting the club with Life Skills sessions for Juniors (JEDS), Colts and Grade, under the charge of Head Coach Todd Louden.

“I love club rugby and particularly this great club. I look forward to rolling out the entirety of the Life Skills program and helping forge genuine player pathways from Junior Clubs into Reps; JEDS; Colts and Grade.”

Please join us in welcoming Jessica and Bondy to the club.
